Imaginative Play

Shannon's really getting into playing with her little stuffed animals. She calls them her soft friends. This morning she had them bounce on a trampoline made of a blanket spread over the laundry basket; she took turns wrapping them like presents and giving them to me; she pretended some of them were babies; she put some of them on the top of a chair arm and made them say "help me!" until another stuffed animal (a duck with a cape who goes by the name of Bing-Bing at our house) flew up and rescued them; she likes to group them in families, but the families are often changing. She'll change her mind about who the baby is going to be or make someone a neighbor instead. Or she'll get distracted by another toy and forget she was playing house at all.

I love two and a half year olds!
